Judy began horse back riding in Virginia as a child, showed there through her junior years, and became a Junior Professional at 16. When she married, she moved to the Pacific Northwest.
For over 45 years, Judy and her family have operated a successful Hunter/ Jumper horseback riding program, 15 years in Washington and the last 35 years at their current Oregon location.
Judy and her son Bob completed the training facility in 1985. Their horses and students, both juniors and amatuers, have shown across the continent,
from Canada to California, and from east coast to west, winning many national awards, hunter championships, and top placings in prestigious Medal Finals (USET, USEF, and ASPCA). Brawley Farms' winning record spans more years than most programs have been in existence.
Judy’s experience as professional rider, horse trainer, and coach for over 50 years is unsurpassed in the Pacific Northwest, making Brawley Farms one of the most knowledgeable and successful A-level hunter and jumper barns in this region. Judy’s acumen in teaching and training has been consistently proven.
To say Debbie has horses in her blood is an understatement. Her parents established Brawley Farms when she was a child and for 45 years, have continued to guide and inspire students throughout the Northwest. Instructed by her mother Judy Blevins Brawley in the classic style, Debbie had fantastic success as a junior before turning professional.
Part of the second generation of a three-generation legacy, Debbie leads Brawley Farms North with the guiding principles of quality horsemanship and dressage fundamentals. Her hunter/jumper students are successful in the ring from lead line to Grand Prix.
Bob has over 30 years of experience on the hunter jumper circuit, and his dynamic career has been extremely successful. He started showing and training in Oregon under the guidance of his mother, Judy Brawley. Together they ran a show barn that included a string of hunters, jumpers, juniors and amateurs.
In 2003, Bob moved to Southern California to establish his own training stable, and in 2011 he relocated to Texas. Bob is known for his classic style, quality horsemanship, and unwavering attention to detail. He easily and effortlessly conveys these virtues to his students and horses giving them the ability to have confident, fun, and successful show careers.
Bob and his students have earned numerous year end awards with USEF, PCHA, and THJA as well as championships throughout North America including Capital Challenge, Spruce Meadows, Thermal Desert Circuit, Arizona Winter Circuit, Del Mar National, Pin Oak Charity, and many Blenheim shows.
